Summer Day Trip: Long Island's Lavender Farm
Nothing screams summer like a flower field! Of all the things I love about summer, mini escapes from the city are my fave. We took a little day trip out to Lavender By The Bay, a beautiful little lavender field in Long Island.
The field starts to bloom in July and August, turning into a gorgeous sea of purple blooms. The English and French lavender bloom at different times in July and August, so check out their bloom tracker for an idea of when to visit. Try to time your visit as soon as they reach peak bloom because the farm does cut back the flowers as they bloom, the field gets smaller and smaller. And you don't want to miss out on views like this!
After you've got your photo opps in, stop by the store for some dried lavender, cute little soaps and candles, and other pretty little souviners from the trip. You can also shop the goodies online if you can't make the trip.
